Lakeland Traverse

Guided by our experienced guides you’ll be starting off following Wainwrights’ footsteps and leaving the small seaside town of St Bees behind to trawl some of the less frequented, quieter ranges to bless this county. The Buttermere Range is a dramatic opener to this adventure with Red Pike, with its rich red colouring by the presence of syenite, High Stile standing 2,648ft tall offering a birds eye view, Seat tucked in between High Crag and Haystacks often overlooked but not be on this occasion, this little gem offers you the same dramatic pleasures as its neighbours, then climbing the rocky summit of Haystacks. Then onto the Eastern fell with towering rock faces and hidden valleys, you’ll be greeted by Great Rigg, Fairfield, Dollywaggon Pike, Helvellyn and The Knott , Shap, Orton finishing off in Kirkby Stephen.

For the entire trip you’ll end your day’s rambling with carefully sourced accommodation with an evening meal, breakfast and a packed lunch for your days trek all provided. As you leave to explore so does your luggage onto the next accommodation awaiting your arrival.
