Coast to Coast guided trek from Badger Adventures

Why not trek the Coast to Coast Badger Adventure style. Let us plan your trip and guide you along Wainwrights long distance footpath resting at carefully sourced accommodation, where you’ll be fed and watered after a day roaming some of England’s most scenic surroundings.

Coast to coast map

Awakening to a hearty breakfast, you’ll be prepared for the days trek. Starting out carrying only a day sack and a prepared packed lunch you will continue along one of Britain’s longest trails, while your luggage is being transferred to your next accommodation.

Lead by our experienced guides you will start off at St Bees on the West Cumbrian coast, where a tradition of dipping your booted foot in the Irish Sea and picking a pebble off the beach to carry on your journey is a must before leaving the cliffs of St Bees behind. You’ll then head off to ramble through three of England’s national parks. The Lake district with its dramatic mountainous backdrop then on to the Yorkshire Dales, a collection of river valleys with hills among them and finally find your way across the North York Moors one of the largest expanse of heather moorlands in the UK, all housing a variety of wildlife. Your final destination is your eastern terminus, Robin Hood’s Bay built in a fissure between two cliffs and here, carrying on the tradition, is where you dip your foot previously dipped in the Irish Sea, into the North Sea and lay your pebble to rest on these shores.

if you require pick up and transfers to local public transport or pick up points, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Coast to Coast Trek Customer Reviews

“The Coast to Coast path this August was one of the best things I have ever done in terms of trekking.

The group worked so well too. We laughed for 192 miles! Jane the group leader and Richie the organiser were fantastic and got us through the harder climbs and blisters. All the organisation worked perfectly from breakfasts in farmhouses to packed lunches and evening meals and B and B’s.

I am looking on the website for another group walking trip now.

Thanks so much Richie”

“I just finished the c2c walk in England with the help of Badger Adventures. What a fabulous experience- Ritchie was wonderful in his role of Chief Badger- all our needs taken care of seamlessly; endless questions answered patiently; expert advice given freely. Jane, our wise and fearless guide, was invaluable not only to our group but others who had lost their way. I highly recommend Badger Adventures for your (and my) next adventure!”

“It is hard to put into words what a wonderful experience I had on the Coast to Coast walk this month with Jo and Ritchie from Badger Adventures. From our first meeting at St Bees to our final farewells at Robin Hood’s Bay we could not have had more perfect guides and leaders. Jo’s experienced mapping and leadership skills went hand in hand with Ritchie’s organisational skills to make a most memorable walk across England. Ritchie’s attention to detail meant we were all treated like kings. Every meal was catered for. From delicious full English breakfasts, a variety of packed lunches and up to three course evening meals, it goes without saying I was never hungry!

One of the most lovely unexpected parts of the walk was meeting all the hosts of the accommodation across the country. We were always met on our daily arrival at each destination with a cup of tea and a warm welcoming smile. Some hosts even baked us special cakes to go with our cuppas!

The accommodation was superb. We had the lot! B&Bs, Old English Pubs with hundreds of years of history and farm stays. We even had one night in a YHA hostel to experience what it would have been like for Alfred Wainwright himself to travel the Coast to Coast.

I would highly recommend anyone booking this wonderful trip. It will bring you a lifetime of memories.

Thank you Ritchie and Jo!!”

“If you are looking for a lifetime memory of fun, adventure, great company, unsurpassable expertise and knowledge, fantastic scenery, excellent accommodation and food, then look no further than Badger Adventures’ guided Coast to Coast walk.

It’s the first long distance walk Ive done and after doing some research and speaking to other people who had done the walk previously, the conclusion was take 16 days to do it so you get the most from it, without it feeling a continuous slog from one day to the next.

Chief Badger’s (Ritchie) meticulous planning and attention to detail is second to none. The accommodation was varied and exceptional and our luggage was always there awaiting our arrival, along with a hearty meal.

The experience and knowledge of both Ritchie and Jo (our guide) was outstanding and everyday my fellow walkers and I learnt something new!

Thank you Ritchie for such an amazing and memorable experience and I cannot wait for my next Badger Adventure!”

  1. Our group of nine friends from Canada shared a brilliant C2C trek organized and managed to perfection by Badger Adventures. We departed from St. Bees in early September but the trek actually began more than three months before that with Ritchie’s detailed training schedule and his sage advice that our enjoyment of the walk would be enhanced if we prepared well. His detailed kit list was very helpful. Our guides were terrific – knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The carefully sourced accommodation that greeted us at the end of each day was always comfortable and the food was remarkable. Bravo, Ritchie. I highly recommend the trek and Badger Adventures to plan and manage it for anyone wanting a great experience.

  2. Dear Ritchie – This was a dream trip for me and I could not be more pleased with Badgers Adventures. Our guide, Matt, did a great job guiding us across England and we could not have done it without him and Tony. The trip was well organized, the accommodations were great, and the food was amazing. I would recommend highly recommend Badgers and this trip.

  3. Hi Ritchie,
Apologies for the lateness, and I won’t bore you with excuses, but I just want to say what a fabulous experience my C2C was.

With expert and good humoured support from Matt and Tony it was truly a memorable lifetime event. I have related the experience at length to my family (they have humoured me my endless tales as I recall them) but without exception they have all been mightily impressed with the Badger organisation and delivery.

Thank you for everything and I hope many more people are lucky enough to enjoy the Badger experience in 2019.

    Best wishes,
    Graeme Hughes

  4. Hi Ritchie,
Well…we’ve successfully completed the C2C thanks to Badger Adventures and our two superb guides – Aaron and Matt!

I’m so pleased and happy and surprised to be done. Wow!

Thank you for your support of this hike. Every step of the way, we were well cared for. The amount of organization and attention to detail that Aaron, Matt and Badger provided was massive and much appreciated. I’d definitely recommend Badger and am looking at your website for other trips…

    Now…what’s next?
    Donna 🙂

  5. Hi Richie
Thank you very much for my recent C2C walk with Badger. Ceri and James exceptional and the whole walk went without a hitch. Add the magnificent weather to the mix made it one of the best trips I have done. I loved the variety of accommodation and ever changing scenery. Having their dog Flint along was a bonus enjoyed by all.

  6. Wow. You guys really know how to make things exciting – especially the fly-away tents and the flash floods!

Wouldn’t have it any other way.

    Thanks for a great time.
